This year's Hero of the Year Award went to Gunilla Edemo. The Board's motivation:
“Gunilla is one of the driving forces in RFSL Stockholm's member group Rainbow families along line 17. Gunilla has been involved in building and developing the meeting places and cultural activities that are the hub of the group's work and which are based on local partnerships with libraries, community centres and other non-profit organizations. The group's work is the prototype of the commitment on which RFSL is based, and the entire movement has been impressed by the great commitment created with small means. With this award, RFSL Stockholm's board wants to recognize and encourage the commitment that Gunilla and the other active members of Regnbågsfamiljer längs linje 17 have contributed to increasing community, joy and mental well-being among LGBTI people in the Stockholm region.”
