FRIDA SANDEGÅRD, new President of the Federation
Frida är 34 år och bor med partner och hund i Stockholm. Till vardags arbetar Frida som projektledare på Myndigheten för ungdomsfrågor och civilsamhället (MUCF).
For the past 11 years, Frida has provided training on two-sex norms, masculinity ideals and sexual education for RFSL Ungdom and MUCF, among others. In addition, Frida has worked for RFSU, Save the Children and a number of different cultural institutions. Frida has driven local organization, been responsible for staff and handled budget work. Frida has also written methodological material and reports for both authorities and non-profit actors on trans issues, young LGBTQ people's conditions and norm-critical design.
On the board, Frida wants to work on issues related to strengthening the health of LGBTQ people and increasing knowledge about the living conditions of LGBTQ people. In addition, Frida wants to work to ensure that RFSL continues to be a relevant member organization and a stable political actor. Frida believes that RFSL should have an obvious role in a broad popular movement that creates security and freedom where everyone has the opportunity to develop as a human being without risking threats or restrictions in life. Frida wants RFSL to continue to conduct professional training activities so that all workplaces, health care institutions, leisure activities and sports events have an LGBTQ-competent approach. Another important focus for RFSL, according to Frida, is to work to shorten the queues in trans care. Frida also wants to work for safer processes for asylum seekers, both by improving the skills of counselors and interpreters and by providing more safe accommodation for LGBTQ people.
