Counseling center for migrants

If you have answered yes to the questions above, we would like to welcome you to RFSL Stockholm's counseling center for migrants who identify as LGBTQI+. Our counseling center offers individual support conversations in a safe environment.

At our counseling clinic, you will meet with an experienced counselor (social worker) who will focus on your needs. Perhaps you have thoughts and concerns that you need to talk to someone about, or perhaps you have questions that you would like the chance to discuss. 

Examples of topics you can get help with

• Sexual identity (gender identity and sexual orientation).
• Sexual practices (sexual acts and behaviors).
• Sexual health (self-care, safe sex and testing).
• Thoughts and feelings about your asylum process.
• Your well-being or concern for the well-being of a friend.
• Help in dealing with authorities, health and addiction services. 

Our counselor does not provide legal advice, but can direct you to someone who can answer your questions about the legal process. 

The call center is free of charge. 

The counselor has a duty of confidentiality, which means that what is said during the conversations stays between you and the counselor. 

The counselling service is part of a project called AMIF (Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund). The project is run by RFSL and co-financed by the EU. In order to follow up and evaluate the benefits and effects of the project, RFSL Stockholm needs to report certain information to the project's funding body. The information we need to report is:

• The first three letters of the first name and the first three letters of the surname.
• Date of birth, age and gender identity

An authorized person at RFSL, linked to the AMIF project, will create a list with an anonymization code to your personal information. The anonymized list will then be sent to the contributor. 

The information can be checked to ensure that what we have reported is correct. The checks are done by linking randomly selected anonymous codes with the LMA number, first name and surname. The checks are carried out under confidentiality and only serve to confirm that the data corresponds to reality. Personal information is never shared with third parties.
