About the project

RFSL Ungdom driver i samarbete med RFSL Stockholm projektet Nätverket för Normkritiska Skolgrupper (NNSG). Målet med projektet är att stödja och främja de elever som inom sin gymnasieskola vill organisera sig med fokus på HBTQ-rättigheter, antirasism och genusfrågor för en tryggare skola.

2016 is the third and final year of the project and now RFSL Ungdom is looking for a person who will work together with the two existing project managers within the project.

About the service

As a project worker, you work together with two other colleagues, one of whom is employed by RFSL Ungdom and the other at RFSL Stockholm.

A key part of your role is to engage and work with students. You will work in a process-oriented way with secondary school students, including during three weekend overnight networking events, in school groups in secondary schools and through campaigns.

You will also work on promoting and disseminating the project externally, using social media as an important tool.

Within the project, we want to work actively to engage students in many different schools across the country We work strategically to get a breadth in terms of different upper secondary programs and to reach students with different needs and conditions. You may therefore have experience of such work or ideas on how we can work to reach a wide target group.

Duties:

The position consists of the following tasks, which are carried out together with other NNSG project staff:

  • Supervising and managing contacts with students and school groups
  • Preparation and implementation of national network meetings (3)
  • Preparation and implementation of student-led conference for school staff and policy makers
  • Production of a handbook for teachers
  • Communication and dissemination of activities and methods within the network, including outreach, cooperation and visits by groups and other actors
  • Preparation and implementation of campaigns (3)
  • Social media administration and presence, including mentoring of guest posters
  • Development and updating of the NNSG website
  • Documentation and dissemination of the project
  • Office-wide tasks

Requirements for the post

Förutom att du står bakom RFSL Ungdoms principprogram så behöver du ha:

  • Knowledge of LGBTQ issues, gender and anti-racism
  • Experience of working from norm-critical and intersectional perspectives
  • Experience in process management and training/workshop management
  • Experience and comfort with public speaking
  • Comfortable with remote contacts via email, phone and social media
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing

Meritorious

These are not requirements but it will make the work easier

  • Has knowledge of strategically using social media.
  • Has knowledge of the school world, governing documents and equality work linked to the school.
  • Trust and proximity to the target group of secondary school students
  • Campaigning and mobilization skills
  • Experience of working in a project environment

Those who progress from this selection will be given a work test in the form of cases, i.e. to think about scenarios related to tasks that the project officer will have.
