About the LGBTQ community
Hbtq-hänget är en mötesplats på RFSL Stockholm för hbtqi-personer som bor i gruppbostad, jobbar på daglig verksamhet eller på annat sätt har stöd genom LSS. På träffarna gör vi olika aktiviteter tillsammans. Vi fikar och pratar om viktiga saker som rättigheter och relationer, har filmkväll och olika tema-kvällar med diskussion eller pyssel. About volunteering
The LGBTQ hangout is an opportunity to meet and mirror yourself in others with similar experiences as you have, for identity strengthening purposes. Therefore, as a volunteer, you need to have your own experience of breaking the cis/hetero norm, the functional norm and/or other norms such as the whiteness norm, as the group seen at the LGBTQ hangout consists of people with a variety of experiences.
As a volunteer, you will be responsible for preparing and organizing meetings 1-2 times a month together with 1-2 other volunteers. This responsibility means that:
- You feel confident in the role of facilitating a group in conversations and activities.
- You provide refreshments, prepare activities and tidy up, conduct rounds and pay attention to the structures and methods to make the room safe and accessible.
- Du är en uppmärksam lyssnare och kan se till både gruppens behov och enskilda personers olika behov.
- You have knowledge of the living conditions of LGBTI and disabled people, such as LSS and the various expressions of funkophobia, and can practice a norm-critical approach in an accessible way.
- You are comfortable communicating in easy Swedish.
Det är meriterande om du är bra på sociala medier och skriftlig kommunikation på lätt svenska och/eller kan leda en separatistisk aktivitet för bi/pan- och homosexuella killar.
The assignment is paid by the hour. You will receive volunteer training, continuous support from the coordinator and supervision.
