Through his commitment to queer history and willingness to highlight important pioneers and meeting places that otherwise risk being forgotten, Sam has had an invaluable impact on Stockholm's LGBTI community. Through his city walks and other activities, Sam has created awareness of the importance of knowing one's history in order to understand and influence one's future, and has highlighted important places and issues in an innovative and significant way,
Therefore, RFSL Stockholm would like to award Sam Hultin the prize for Hero of the Year and thank him for his efforts. We hope that the city walks on Södermalm in Stockholm can continue!
