Parenting course for those who want to become parents
Are you longing for children? Are you in the process of trying for a baby? Are you pregnant? Would you like to meet others who are longing for children?
The parenting course is aimed at those who are gay, bisexual, transgender or queer and are thinking about parenting. During the meetings, you will have the opportunity for discussion and reflection, as well as in-depth study of family law and various practical ways of becoming a parent. It will also be an opportunity to meet others in the same situation and make contacts with other families and parents-to-be.
The course consists of four meetings on Tuesdays during the fall, on November 4, November 11, November 18 and November 25. We meet between 18.00 and 20.00. We meet at RFSL Stockholm's premises at Sveavägen 59, 1 tr.
We would like to know how much interest there is in this approach and therefore ask you to send a pre-registration if you want to attend the course.
To register for the course email at**********@************sl.se. Please mark the email with “Parenting course”. The course is free of charge as materials, coffee etc. are financed by the Inheritance Fund.
Meeting places for rainbow families
Our social activities are an open meeting place for all rainbow families. We hang out, play, do crafts, go on excursions and have coffee together!
As a child, you will have the opportunity to meet children living in families similar to yours, and as an adult you can talk, share experiences and socialize with others. Although many of these activities are adapted to the fact that there may be small and large children in the families, the meeting place is also for all of you who are thinking about or want to become parents.
We meet every third Sunday between 13.00-15.30. The dates for the fall are set for November 2, November 23 and December 14. Dates for the spring meetings will be announced soon.
The location of the meetings will vary but the first times we will be in premises belonging to Mäster Olofsgården in Gamla stan. The address is Svartmangatan 6, 111 29 Stockholm and the nearest metro station is T-Gamla stan. The room is called “fritidshemmet” and is located on the third floor. There is an elevator up to the premises in the café Mäster Olof. Carts can be parked in the courtyard at the café, however, there is no roof there so it is good if you have a cover in case it rains.
As the meetings will be held in different locations, updated information about location and content can be found on our Facebook page “LGBTQ families”. The meetings will be free of charge as materials, coffee etc. are financed by the Swedish Inheritance Fund.
As the room can accommodate a limited number of people, it is important that you register in advance. You can do this by emailing at**********@************sl.se. Please mark the email with “Meeting place”.
Rainbow families include all families where one or more adults are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer!
