It's time for the annual award ceremonies. RFSL Stockholm's Board of Directors annually appoints the Old Heroes Award and now you have the opportunity to nominate a person who you think has earned the award. A person can only be awarded the prize once. The criteria for the award are:
The Old Heroes Award is presented to a person, living or dead, who has made important contributions to the LGBTQ community in Sweden in the past. The purpose of the prize is to illustrate Swedish LGBTQ history and draw attention to those who have led the way in the fight for a society where people regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity have equal rights and obligations. The prize will primarily be awarded to people who are no longer frequently recognized for their efforts, and where it is important that the LGBTQ community shows its gratitude afterwards.
