Project manager wanted for the Children of our Time project

About the project
RFSL Stockholm has been granted project funding from Arvsfonden for the project Children of our time. The aim of the project is to empower children living in rainbow families by offering their parents social, empowering and supportive activities as well as access to practical, medical and legal information relevant to LGBTQ parenting. By rainbow family we mean a family where at least one of the adult family members defines themselves as LGBTQ. The project also aims to increase the knowledge of family formation outside the heteronorm among a number of key people who meet rainbow families in their professional role. The target group for this training initiative will be staff in social services, BVC, MVC and maternity care in Stockholm County. We are now looking for project managers for the first year of the project.

About the service
The position includes developing, setting up and continuously evaluating a range of social, supportive and informative activities for children and adults living in different types of rainbow families. It also includes building a website with practical, medical and legal information relevant to LGBTQ parenting. The service also includes developing a pedagogical approach for the project's educational efforts, conducting the training and developing a procedure for evaluation and follow-up of the educational efforts.

The project will be led by two project managers who will work very closely together during the course of the project and will be jointly responsible for managing the project. This will involve applying for and accounting for project funds and seeking new avenues for funding.

Prior to the project, a survey was conducted with the target group of LGBTQ people in Stockholm who are/want to become parents, which showed that rainbow families consisting of two women and their common children are clearly overrepresented among the project's target group. The project leaders will therefore have an active role in highlighting and making visible other types of rainbow families in all parts of the project.
