RFSL Stockholm has started a choir! This is part of our new project with support from the County Administrative Board of Stockholm, aimed at LGBTI asylum seekers and people in need of protection who want to learn or practice Swedish in fun, creative ways together with other LGBTI people.
The project offers a Swedish course led by our fantastic SFI teacher, author and language expert Sara Lövestam. Sara works with choral singing as a method together with the acclaimed music producer and artist Storm Dunder.
In December, course participants took part in part of the annual winter concert of the LGBTI choir Rainbow Gospel. But this is just the beginning! The project runs until August and plans another choir performance during Stockholm Pride. The Swedish course is combined with a queer language café, and it is still possible to sign up as a volunteer language facilitator.
