About RFSL Stockholm
RFSL Stockholm's target groups are homosexual, bisexual, transgender and queer people as well as relatives and friends. We work for a society characterized by respect for the equal rights and opportunities of all people, regardless of gender, sexual identity, gender identity or gender expression, HIV status, ethnicity, religion or other beliefs, functional ability, age or socio-economic background.
Description of the mission
In addition to strategic responsibilities, the board works with fundraising, member meetings and the newsletter. You have, on behalf of the board, the responsibility to supervise the head of the office and it is you who represents RFSL Stockholm externally.
Requirements profile
We want you to:
- are passionate about our business
- have knowledge of LGBTQ rights and RFSL
- have experience in board work (you do not need to have been a chairperson before)
- have experience working with non-discrimination and norm-critical advocacy both internally and externally
- is used to pursuing several different issues in parallel that affect a broad target group
- is communicative, responsible and responsive - to inspire and encourage others, but also to delegate and involve the whole board in the work
- is used to working with people from different experiences, backgrounds and competences
- can motivate others, manage different opinions and seek practical solutions to unforeseen situations that may arise
- experience in human resources and management tasks and knowledge of labor law is an advantage, but not a requirement
Time perspective
The Board meets 12 times a year and, in addition, a Chairperson spends approximately 5-25 hours/week on their role. It is important that you are available and active throughout the mandate period, which is one year. The role is voluntary.
The Board is elected by the Annual General Meeting on March 14 in Stockholm and members are elected for a period of 2 years. At the 2015 annual meeting, a maximum of 8 members are elected, including a treasurer and a chairperson.
