Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions we receive about our training activities.
Why don't you offer free training?
We do not receive any subsidies to carry out training or lectures and are therefore entirely dependent on selling training to pay our trainers' salaries, office space, etc. We set our prices according to the market. Our training activities are not a for-profit business, but an integral part of the association's overall activities. This means that if our training activities make a profit, this money goes directly to the association's activities aimed at members and the LGBTI community at large.
Do you offer digital distance learning?
Yes, you can. All our trainings can be adapted to be done digitally and remotely. However, most of the trainings we conduct are on site as we believe that there is an educational value in meeting physically.
Is it possible to record your trainings to share internally?
No, as a rule we do not allow recordings of our trainings. Our trainings are always “live”, either on site or digitally.
We see great pedagogical value in always having trainers leading the training to capture and address any concerns and questions that may arise. We never want participants to feel alone in the learning process.
Moreover, our training business is entirely dependent on selling and delivering training to ensure that the training business can continue to exist.
If you have difficulties finding dates and times that work for all your staff, we can always schedule additional training sessions to ensure that as many people in your organization as possible can participate.
Where will the training take place - at your premises or ours?
We usually come to you and conduct the training, which means that you are responsible for booking a room, making sure that the technology works and buying any coffee. However, it is possible to rent premises from us if you do not have your own. If this is relevant to you - write this in your order and we will include the room rental in the quote.
Do you educate children and young people?
No. RFSL Stockholm stopped the so-called school information about ten years ago. We focus on training and supporting adults who work with children and young people. In this way, we can give staff the knowledge and skills to feel safe and confident to have these discussions with students directly. We feel that this is in many ways a more effective way of including these topics throughout our work with young people.
We also have an Heritage Fund project that is developing a comprehensive material to work with in the classroom as we have seen that many teachers have requested this.
Can I book an education in English?
Yes. We are able to deliver all of our education in English upon request. Feel free to contact us with further questions at utbildning@stockholm.rfsl.se
Can I book a study visit with you?
No, we do not. Unfortunately, we are not able to accept individual study visits within the framework of the Office's activities.
