Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR) which occurs annually on 20 November, is a day to memorialize those who have been killed as a result of transphobia, or the hatred or fear of transgender and gender non-conforming people, and acts to bring attention to the continued violence endured by the transgender community. TDoR was founded in 1998 by Gwendolyn Ann Smith to honor and remember Rita Hester.
We gather together and remember, honor and memorialise the transgender people who are no longer with us. We pay tribute to the respect and friendship that exists between us.
Live feed and speeches/poetry/music starts at 7pm, but you are welcome from 6pm.
We will end the evening at Observatorielunden and there we will release floating lanterns (Khom Loy) for memorials.
During the evening we will serve coffee and cakes.
